Night Light Golf Tournament, August 22, 2008
Join CAPS for one of the most unique and entertaining golfing experiences in Tuscaloosa, the 16th annual Night Light Golf Tournament. Play nine holes of golf in the afternoon, break for dinner, and after the sun has set, play the same nine using glow-in-the-dark golf balls.


Child Abuse Prevention Month, April 2009



Proclamations

Each April Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) joins state and local agencies and concerned citizens throughout the nation in promoting public awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month. The first step in raising awareness is to proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
At the request of local agencies, the cities of Tuscaloosa and Northport join the nation in heralding April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Blue Ribbon Campaign
CAPS joins local agencies in blanketing the community with blue ribbons during April. Contact CAPS at 758-1159 to request a blue ribbon decal. These easily removable decals are ideal for an automobile window or a window in your home or business.

Lantern Float Tuscaloosa
The second annual float will be held in April 2009. At least one candle for each confirmed case of child abuse and neglect will be set afloat on the Black Warrior River. Click here for images of the 2008 lantern float.


All proceeds from fund-raisers support CAPS, a non-profitagency described as a role model for quality prevention programs by theTuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office. Each year CAPS provides more than 10,000 individuals with effective parenting, children’s, and communityeducation programs at no charge. The CAPS’ staff works to fulfill the agency’smission by teaching children to set their own boundaries and to know what to dowhen those boundaries are threatened. We also work, through weekly groupmeetings, to teach families nurturing and loving behaviors. The services we offer are proven by pre and post testing to make a positive impact instrengthening families and reducing the incidence of child abuse in ourcommunity.
